The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) is Australia’s peak representative body for all segments of the urban development industry. UDIA is a federation of five state associations that aim to promote the urban development industry in achieving sustainable urban development. With an important national voice on development matters, the UDIA takes an active interest in government decisions and decision making processes affecting the industry, and aims to advance the interest of members by lobbying, communication and research.

02-05-2010 Henry Review National President, Peter Sherrie said, "The Henry Review is a far reaching document and hits on the number one issue confronting the sector – housing affordability. ‘ 27-04-2010 Development Industry Welcomes 2010 "State of Supply" Report The Report has found that the demand for housing in Australia is expected to grow over the next 20 years with an additional 3.2 million dwellings needed to meet underlying demand by 2029, and that the gap between supply and demand is also likely to continue to grow over this period with a projection of a 640,600 shortfall.
